What you should know about our composting toilets...
All ToMTuR toilets work according to the separation/compost principle. The urine is separated as soon as you go to the toilet and collected in a tightly closed urine bottle. Depending on the model, it holds eight to nine liters.
The other residues go into the solids container and are mixed with coconut fibers using an agitator. The subsequent drying by a built-in fan creates a substrate that smells subtly of forest soil and can be disposed of as compost. Depending on the model, the container holds up to 80 uses to the toilet - which corresponds to a travel time of several weeks for a couple.
BY THE WAY: Our two models Nature's Head and OGO combine the advantages and the sustainability of the compost principle with a very high Convenience of use. The seat height is comfortable and thanks to the smart trap door in the seat, the separate collection of urine works equally well for men and women. The sturdy construction and the simple installation will also convince you.
No. Our composting toilets tolerate frost without any problems. You should only empty the urine bottle. The solids container can remain filled.
After emptying the solids bin (or before first use), you will need fresh absorbent substrate. We recommend coconut fiber (from the husk of the coconut) because, as a waste product of rope production, it is environmentally friendly, biodegradable and sustainable, plus easy to transport and store.
Put one coco coir brick (650 g - available in our online store) with one (!) liter of water. This is easiest to do in a bucket or waterproof bag. Let the brick swell up, this can take some time, we prefer to do this overnight, but 30 min should be enough. With hot water it goes a little faster. It is not necessary to crumble the brick before mixing.
Pour as much of the loose substrate into the solids container, so that with Nature's Head the level reaches about the crank, with OGO the agitator should just be visible. And on it goes!
Should you use the toilet permanently with more than 3-4 people (with the Nature's Head), please use a little more coconut fiber.
Urine, because of its nitrogen content, is a great fertilizer for trees. When diluted, for other plants as well.
- Pour the urine into a public toilet.
- Use disposal stations or gullies
- Spread the urine on trees where allowed
- Dilute the urine (about 1:10) and use it to fertilize other plants, not directly edible ones, of course....
Urine may be legally dumped on the high seas.
Solid product and super dedicated service!

In times when many people are always complaining, I would like to praise good and customer-friendly service - that has to be said.

Had the great fortune to get a live demonstration on site. No worries, the business was already done. But I was able to convince myself that no odor was noticeable, even though the ventilation was not even turned on. Grandiose invention!

As a single user, I only have to empty it every three months. That's the best thing about the NH Separating Toilet.

The toilet has proven itself, is unproblematic to handle and there is NO smell.

We also have the Nature's Head separation toilet. Are two on the road. The principle works honestly without problems and is highly recommended for many reasons (ecological, but also for self-sufficiency reasons).

If I had known three years ago that something like this existed, I would have had it installed in my new motorhome right away. I would not want to miss this toilet anymore.

My conclusion: never again cassette, I should have converted earlier.
Matthias
As reported by other users, we have not noticed any noise from the cloth so far, even when we turned off the fan during interruptions in use. So far, we are completely satisfied!

I would like to tell you how pleased I am with this toilet. It really is worth the money and is a blast. You have to wonder why this ecological toilet is not used more often. Maybe it's the price. But especially for permanent campers it is ideal.

Here also my mustard to the separation toilet, in particular the Nature's Head: Works exactly as it should! Really does not smell!
Volker
It stinks, nothing smells at all! It's hard to believe, but it was! Do not regret buying at all, on the contrary! Too bad I did not do this earlier. This would have saved me a lot of inconvenience and trouble with the cassette over the years. Still, it's never too late! Nature's Head separation toilet, I can highly recommend to everyone.

We were very curious to see how we would get along with the Natures Head. Conclusion: we are very satisfied with the handling and the non-existent odor. Likewise with your excellent service. Everything as we had hoped, we will gladly recommend ToMTuR !
