Our coco coir bricks can be prepared for use in a well sealable zip-bag in the quickest and most uncomplicated way.
Remove the packaging foil from a brick, place the brick upright in the zip-bag, add one litre of water, close the bag and leave it until it is completely swollen up. If any smaller lumps remain, you can crush them in the sealed bag.
Sealing the bag prevents moisture from escaping and accidental overturning has no consequences.
Our coconut fibres are a natural product, the size of the bricks and the substrate volume are subject to variation.
Mixing with warm or hot water accelerates the swelling process and results in a larger substrate volume, cold water will of course work too.
Depending on the water temperature, swelling can take between 30 minutes and 12 hours.
Since the swollen substrate can be stored for a very long time in the sealed bag without any impairment of quality, the preparation of the coconut fibres can be done at any time.
Pour the complete amount of substrate into the solids container of your Nature's Head® composting toilet. The level of coconut fibres in the Nature's Head® should reach just below the agitator. If you use the composting toilet regularly with more than approx. 3 people or if you suffer from diarrhoea, you should fill in a little more coconut fibre to bind the moisture.
You can roll up the bag and reuse it many times.
Delivery without coconut fibre bricks or coconut fibres!
